Voip Phone Service Resources & Information
So your ready to start using VoIP (voice over ip) technology. Great choice! Everyone has at least heard of VoIP, but the real question is why would you change out your PSTN (public switched telephone network) and go with a VoIP technology? Why are so many businesses transferring over to VoIP technology? Why are millions of everyday households jumping on the VoIP train?
Well the reasons are because of the great value adds that VoIP offers. There are so many advantages that come with VoIP and they are not just a myth, they have been proven. The first advantage that should jump out at you is the overal cost is so much cheaper.
VoIP takes your voice and carries it over the world wide web. A good example is this. Say you send a email to buddy across the world. Say New York to California. Did that email cost you anything extra? No! VoIP technology works the same way. You will not have to pay outrageous long distance phone bills ever again. |

The choice is yours to use VoIP at home or even at your place of business, but the bottom line is the cost is less then the regular phone line. Not only is your long distance plan pretty much eliminated, but your local phone service is benefited also. Some VoIP providers even provided combined plans where you unrestricted local calls and unlimited long distance calls. So when selecting a VoIP provider make sure to research their coverage plans. Plus when using VoIP technology you will not need to add additional phone jack plugs or any additional phone wiring.
The really cool feature of VoIP (besides saving you tons of cash on telephone bills) is that it completely integrates all your phone requirements with your computer! You can combine your email, faxes, video phone technology, and web seminars saving you tons of time (lots of wasted energy) and headaches. Being able to access all your applications with a touch of button even makes the average home owner capable of running such a technology. |

Voice Over IP News Updates:
[Future-Nine] Real-time DID availability Any chance you're going to provide real time DID listings and set up?
DIDX has APIs for that, my guess all wholesale DID providers offer APIs that allow to see real time data and immediate DID set up... [Skype] Anyone here use the Skype handset phones? I was thinking about getting a Skype handset phone as an additional line.
Has anyone here used one of these, and what's the quality like?
Something like this:

Thanks for your opinion.
Edit: I have 10Mbps ADSL and 768kbps upload, with very reliable service if anyone was wondering. Future-Nine and CallWithUs Does anyone know why the websites of these two VoIP provides look almost alike? I use CallWithUs and am considering Future-Nine as a backup, but would like to first understand the relationship. [Equipment] Is the DTA-310 useful for anything anymore? I have a DTA-310 adapter that was unlocked, but I had given up on it a while ago. So, as I was cleaning, I came across it again. The thing is that its old, and I see many old threads about it. Does this thing work with any free voip providers anymore? Here is the info on its web config:
Application Code Version: SIP version 1.0 US (LDTK AR16O ) checksum e423
Downloader Code Version: 1.0 US (8x8 010221) checksum 9420
Hardware Type: BVA8051S
I have it hooked up to a WRT54G router, and do get a dial tone. Not sure what to do from there. [Equipment] Linksys SPA1001 vs Linksys SPA1001-R1 Bought one SPA1001 off ebay and the model number is actually SPA1001-R1 on the box. I had some SPA1001 before and this SPA1001-R1 is same as my old SPA1001. Both are unlocked as well.
Anybody know what's the difference between the two models?
